A great pickleball community is welcoming, dependable, and safe—especially for someone playing their first game.
Welcome the beginner
Explain local customs kindly, share court time fairly, and never shame someone for asking about rules or scoring.
Be dependable
Respond honestly to availability, leave a game promptly if plans change, and communicate material changes to participants.
Respect boundaries
No harassment, discrimination, unwanted promotion, intimidation, sexual misconduct, threats, or retaliation for a safety report.
Protect privacy
Do not post private-home addresses, precise player locations, personal contact information, screenshots, or private messages without permission.
Play honestly and safely
Make line calls in good faith, respect facility rules, use suitable equipment, and stop play when conditions or conduct become unsafe.
Host responsibly
Set accurate expectations, apply participation rules consistently, manage waitlists fairly, and address unsafe behavior without escalating conflict.
Report concerns
Use the Safety Center for concerning conduct. Reports are private. False or retaliatory reporting is itself a violation.
Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, actions may include a warning, content removal, feature restriction, circle removal, suspension, or account termination.
